- Originally introduced in the Japan exclusive Monster Hunter G, its name was first localized in Monster Hunter Freedom as White Velociprey.
- In Monster Hunter 2, Giaprey stopped appearing among Velociprey packs and gained the ability to spit snow, dealing Ice Element damage, then in Monster Hunter Freedom 2 they were officially renamed to Giaprey with their own pack leader, the Giadrome.
