- Its trunk and each leg (individual) can be broken, and its head can be broken twice.

- Gammoth, Glavenus, Mizutsune, and Astalos are the flagships of Monster Hunter Generations.
- Gammoth ranked 85th place in the Top Monster competition during Monster Hunter's 20th Anniversary.[1]

The Giant Beast Gammoth (ガムート, gamūto) is a Fanged Beast introduced in Monster Hunter Generations.
Physiology and Abilities
Gammoths are very large fanged beasts known for their hulking size, long trunk, deep blue and red fur over the body, brown bone-like plating on their head and feet, and a small bushy tail.
Gammoth can use its great mass to crush nearby foes to death, and can utilize its trunk to suck in enemies and blast ice at them. It can also burrow up snowballs to strike foes from above, and coat itself with snow for added protection and power. Each leg and its tail will be covered in snow.
They are known to go dormant and get completely covered by snow, which can make the empty space between its legs resemble a safe cave during a snowstorm. It can easily break out of its icy enclosure when reawakened.
Gammoths are the female part of a sexually dimorphic species, but where or what their male partners are is currently unknown.
Description
Monster Hunter Generations | |
---|---|
Found in the most frigid regions of the world, Gammoths are behemoths with massive tusks. Though they are herbivores, when provoked they will leverage their enormous weight and trunks to crush a threat. They can also shatter the snow covering their legs to damage nearby foes. Threat Level: ★★★★★ Gammoth can use its trunk to cover its legs in snow at any time. Breaking a leg, however, will make it so the snow won't stick, preventing Gammoth from recoating that particular leg. |
