The Wings of Ruin Razewing Ratha (破滅レウス, hametsu reusu) is a Flying Wyvern introduced in Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin.

It is a unique individual of Rathalos.

Physiology and Abilities

As a baby and juvenile Rathalos, Razewing Ratha has small deformed wings with rotted torn webbing, making it flightless. The wings also have black and blue scales, with strange light blue feathers at the end of its wings. Apart from that, the rest of its body is identical to a young Rathalos. As it has less training in honing its destructive power, the young Razewing Ratha can charge up a Ground Flare instead of flying to Sky-High Dive.

Its wings eventually heal with the power of Kinship, turning them near identical to a regular Rathalos', the key difference being the different patterns on its wing webbing. Its wings will emit an orange-white light when using Sky-High Dive.

When its Wings of Ruin turn berserk, its red scales alongside its black and blue wing scales will turn dark gray, and its eyes and some of the brown markings on its stomach glow hot pink. Most notably, its wings expand with four geysers of violet darkness flowing from it, making up for its still rotten wings and giving Razewing Ratha flight. This form returns when Razewing Ratha's wings have healed, still keeping healthy wings yet erupting darkness when charging brutal attacks.

Razewing Rathalos' true power can arise which turns its body lighter, with pure cyan light flowing from its wings rather than darkness. This temporarily gives it the power to annihilate fatal threats by charging into them, intended for the purpose of destroying a specific Elder Dragon.

Overview

• Razewing Ratha can be fought once in the Hakolo Island locale, just in front of the Elder's Lair. Its egg was born in Hakolo Island, and hatched in Rutoh.
• Razewing Ratha has no armor, weapons, or material carves. It does have layered armor earned in paid DLC.

General Notes

• Razewing Ratha can only be fought once. Should the player wish to fight it again, it is recommended to save in another file slot right before first challenging Razewing Ratha.
• Razewing Ratha has no armor, weapons, or material carves. It does have layered armor earned in paid DLC.
• Razewing Ratha has no description and doesn't show up in any monster notes, not even after fighting its dark form

Monster Hunter Stories 2

In its fight, Razewing Ratha will eventually act twice per turn, then thrice per turn.

Razewing Ratha has three different Kinship Skills:

• Ground Flare for when the young Razewing Ratha gains slightly more control of its fireballs,
• Sky-High Dive for when its wings have healed, with slight differences from a regular Rathalos' Kinship Skill,
• Sky-High Dive (Dark) for when Razewing Ratha is fought in its Wings of Ruin form.
  • While not a Kinship Skill itself, Razewing Ratha performs an extremely powerful Sky-High Dive when using its true power against the final boss.
