The Silver Fire Wyvern Silver Rathalos (リオレウス希少種, rioreusu kishō-shu) is a flying wyvern introduced in Monster Hunter G.
It is a Rare Species of Rathalos.
Physiology and Abilities
Silver Rathalos are large flying wyverns characterized by their shiny silver shells adorned with black markings, instead of the common species' red shell. Their large wings possess a strong membrane with fiery dark marks coming from the wing arm. The tail-tip is noticeably wider than the rest of the tail, and is used as a club.
Unlike the Rathalos subspecies, Silver Rathalos has variably stronger powers, the most noteworthy his blazing blue flames which can potentially explode. Like other species, Silver Rathalos' talons secrete toxins capable of disorienting large animals, while their developed flame sac allows them to spit large fireballs. Uniquely, its chest can glow hot blue in the center and orange outside of it, allowing Silver Rathalos to spit deadlier blue fireballs. This powerup is called the "Incandescent" state. (formerly "Hellfire" before Magnamalo appeared)
Silver Rathalos are the male part of a sexually dimorphic species, and are often seen alongside their female counterpart, Gold Rathian.
Silver Rathalos shares the rule of nature with its common species and subspecies: the physiologically different race of Silver Rathalos featuring a thinner body, smaller wings and altered talon shape, and elongated neck and tail, has gone recessive in favor of the common Rathalos anatomy.
