The following evolutionary tree diagram was originally published in Hunter's Encyclopedia 1 before eventually being republished in both Hunter's Encyclopedia G and Hunter's Encyclopedia (Reprint Edition). It was continually updated, with new iterations being released in different books. For a list of all evolutionary trees, see Evolutionary Trees.
As none of those trees have ever been officially localized in English, the names of the taxa below have no official English names. In an effort to preserve both the realistic style and meaning of the original Japanese taxa, these translations have been stylized with Latin or Greek roots and taxonomic suffixes, just as real English taxa are named. If you prefer simplified translations, or want to see the explanations behind them, see the #Translation Table at the bottom of this page.
