Monster Hunter G is an online hunting action game for the Playstation 2 console, and is an enhanced re-release of Monster Hunter.

It originally released on January 20th 2005 in Japan, and never received an official release outside of its home country. It was later also released on the Nintendo Wii console on April 23rd 2009, with some slight alterations - again, only in Japan.

It is the first G-Release of the series and established a release formula most subsequent games would follow.
