Forests feature plenty of trees and verdant nature, these locales often have other features to help distinguish them, some locales are also considered part of the forest niche while not explicitly representing a proper forest, they are heavily associated with Mountains, Swamps and Jungles, while some Snowfields are also heavily forested.

Fifth Generation

Ancient Forest

The Ancient Forest features dense vegetation built around a gigantic tree, bordered by the coast of the New World, the settlement of Astera is directly connected to it.

Shrine Ruins

The Shrine Ruins is not a forest, but fills the same niche, a land of greenery brimming with impressive biodiversity, its most notable feature is the remnants of an old village where the ancestors of the people of Kamura used to live.

Fourth Generation

Primal Forest

The Primal Forest is a tropical area deep featuring impressive grottoes, the skeleton of a gigantic monster overlooks much of the landscape.

Third Generation

Deserted Island

The Deserted Island fills the niche of a forest, but is closer to a valley, as the forested areas are off-limits, many leviathans inhabit this place, as it is directly connected to the ocean, the Underwater Ruin is found in the depths, while the village of Moga floats on its coast.

Flooded Forest

The Flooded Forest is a thick forested wetland, more akin to a swamp than a forest, much of the terrain here is covered in puddles and deep lakes.

Misty Peaks

The Misty Peaks is a locale with tall mountains that reach above the clouds, bamboo grows wild here, the artisans of Yukumo get their trademark Yukumo Wood from the deep forests, the Sacred Pinnacle sits deep into the mountainside.

Second Generation

Great Forest

The Great Forest is a largely unexplored region consisting of giant trees and crystal clear lakes and rivers, a gigantic hollow tree sits near the center, which many monsters use for nesting.

First Generation

Forest and Hills

The Forest and Hills is a landmark locale where many hunters from Schrade learn how to hunt, a deep forest runs parallel to ancient cliffsides, this locale attracts monsters of all kinds, from bottom-feeding scavengers to top predators looking for a nest, the village of Kokoto is a boat ride away.
